Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain the cleanliness of the Association’s facilities, equipment and property in a safe manner, supporting member retention efforts. The role is part-time with hours Monday through Friday, 9am–2pm, and involves cleaning, inventory, and collaboration with staff to create a welcoming, child-friendly environment.

Responsibilities include operating carpet and floor cleaning machines, trash disposal, restroom upkeep, and assisting with outside

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write, speak and understand English and follow instructions.
• Equivalent to two years of high school.

Responsibilities

• Operate carpet cleaning and floor cleaning equipment.
• Sweep and mop floors and stairways; collect and dispose of trash/recycling and towels.
• Clean furniture, fixtures, and furnishings; clean mirrors and interior/exterior glass.
• Stock restroom supplies and maintain towels; high dust ledges and fixtures.
• Report repair needs and assist with outside contractors and vendors.
• Attend required trainings and maintain supplies inventory.
