Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep facilities, equipment, and grounds in safe and clean condition, supporting member experience and program delivery. The role requires practical handyman skills and the ability to learn YMCA software within 30 days.

You will perform routine maintenance, assist with pool and exercise equipment, conduct inspections, and coordinate with the Facilities Director to maintain safe facilities and timely custodial operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in facility, maintenance, or property related field is required.
• Must hold current driver’s license; Chauffeur’s license or CDL preferred.
• Demonstrated intelligence and ability to learn.
• Competency in Microsoft Office is required.
• Ability to learn YMCA specific software within 30 days of hire is required.
• Significant self-control.
• Strong social skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain YMCA facilities, equipment and property in a safe and clean manner.
• Perform routine maintenance on building, grounds, and equipment (doors, windows, pool equipment, furniture, exercise equipment).
• Change light bulbs and ballasts; carpentry; painting; custodial tasks; room set-ups and takedowns.
• Assist with pool operation and maintenance and with maintenance, repair, and cleaning of exercise equipment.
• Perform routine inspections on building, grounds, and equipment; ensure safety compliance; provide weekly inventory reports.
