Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks in guest rooms and hotel buildings.

• Assist with issues that require skilled repair or contractor support.
• Maintain daily logs and update work orders in the system.
• Ensure safety compliance and monitor exterior grounds and public areas.

Job SummaryThe Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring that the property is in excellent condition for guests and associates. Under the direction of the General Manager and Chief Engineer, the technician is responsible for maintaining all equipment, systems, and building components, including but not limited to mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile, and other equipment. Additionally, depending on experience and role level, the technician may assist other facilities staff as needed.Primary Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsWork independently while completing various maintenance tasks in guest rooms and hotel buildings including but not limited to minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, furniture assembly, etc. as neededTroubleshooting and repairs of mid-level plumbing, HVAC, painting and sheet rock repairAssist in troubleshooting issues that require a skilled maintenance repair or contractor repairCarry out routine checks and maintenance work for the assigned areasConduct room care preventative maintenance as directedPossess thorough knowledge of all equipment in your departmentUpdate work order tickets and record in system according to company proceduresCommunicate with departments and other relevant parties for work ordersRespond to work orders quickly and resolve timelyMaintaining the documentation of all daily logs, reading, and building inspection programsAdhere to hotel work order system including prioritizationAchieve and maintain quality guest room product according to hotel standardsMaintain strict compliance of hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program, including maintaining current MSDSThorough knowledge of all emergency equipment, their location, and their function including but not limited to valves, electrical equipment, etc.Demonstrate teamwork responsiveness when asked to do any task consistent with hotel standardsDirectly assist the Facilities Technician I as neededMonitor all services performed by outside contractors and vendorsEnsure safety and security throughout the hotelMaintaining all exterior grounds, parking areas, and public access areasAll other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceSufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guestsAbility to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferredCustomer service experience is a must.
