Job summary

The City of Wylie is looking for a Facility Support Technician to join the Facilities division. You will perform custodial and maintenance duties across city buildings, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs to keep facilities in good condition.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of building maintenance experience. Preferred HVAC/electrical/plumbing certifications and a valid Texas Driver's License; NIMS training is required after

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience in building maintenance.
Preferred certifications in HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing.
Valid Texas Driver's License. Must have Texas Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses after hire.

Responsibilities

Clean, maintain and repair city buildings and facilities.
Perform custodial and maintenance duties including electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
Identify and report maintenance needs to supervisor and procure supplies.
Ensure facilities are in good working order and safe for public use.
Operate city vehicle to carry out department tasks.
