Job summary

Millennium Health is seeking a responsible Facilities Technician to support daily operation and maintenance of our laboratory and office spaces in San Diego, CA. You will help keep equipment and spaces clean, safe, and fully functional.

You will assist with HVAC, lighting, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical systems, install furniture and visualization equipment, and perform minor repairs. Expect after-hours rotation and close work with the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years relevant work experience; laboratory environment desirable.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operation and maintenance of MH facilities; ensure labs and offices are clean and functional.
• Oversee systems including heating, lighting, refrigeration, AC, plumbing, humidification, and electrical.
• Install whiteboards, pictures, monitor screens and ergonomic equipment.
• Perform minor patching and painting in office and laboratory spaces; general building repairs.
• Assist with furniture reconfigurations and remounts to accommodate user needs.
• Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs; communicate with Facilities Manager to resolve issues.
• Handle facilities tickets through to resolution; follow safety policies; report hazards or injuries.
• Occasional rotation for after-hours emergency coverage.

Job description

Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with more than a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services, helping clinicians monitor the use and misuse of prescription medications and illicit drugs. The testing is used by healthcare professionals to obtain objective information about patients’ recent use of prescription medications and/or illicit drugs and helps monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans.

The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation and maintenance of all MH facilities, by ensuring all laboratory and office areas are clean and fully functional.

• Assist Facilities Technician II with overseeing systems that include heating, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, humidification, and electrical systems.
• Install whiteboards, pictures, monitor screens and various types of ergonomic equipment.
• Perform minor patching and painting throughout office and laboratory space
• Perform in general building repair and maintenance duties for all facilities including grounds, office and common areas.
• Assist Facilities Technician II with reconfigurations, installs, positions, and remounts office furniture and spaces (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
• Responds to emergency calls and performs repairs for roof leaks, spills, rest room cleaning, and various other requests.
• Communicate on a regular basis with Facilities Manager to resolve issues
• Respond to all facilities tickets and see them through to resolution.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
• Reports any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
• Performs other job duties as assigned
• Must be available for occasional rotation for afterhours emergency coverage

Education

• Minimum High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience

• At least 3 years relevant work experience
• Experience in laboratory environment highly desirable

Skill/Abilities

• Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license in the state in which you are employed.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to work efficiently in a CMMS System
• Ability to operate security badge and video systems effectively
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs without accommodations
• Ability to stand for 8 hours or more on a given shift
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Potential Hiring Range:

• Salary Range: $25.00 – $30.00 / hour
• Salary offered is dependent on qualifications and experience.
