Job summary

Kemba Credit Union seeks a part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and inspect lease spaces, buildings, and grounds across multiple branches. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and coordinating with outside vendors as needed.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, knowledge of building systems, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail. Travel to Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana branches is expected.

Qualifications

  • Education: a two-year college degree or certification/licensing or vendor training.
  • One year to three years maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of janitorial equipment and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and inspects lease spaces, buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Supervises outside service personnel and vendors as needed.
  • Reports major repair needs to Facilities Manager.

POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for maintaining and inspecting lease spaces, open property, buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds. Assumes direct responsibility for maintenance of assigned areas. Performs preventative maintenance, making minor repairs, and supervising, directing, and assisting outside service personnel and vendors as needed. Reports major repair and maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • Completes inspections tests while maintaining logs and records reflecting the results.
  • Performs maintenance on all security systems and door locks.
  • Performs minor building and furniture modifications or repairs involving carpentry, painting, wiring, and overhauling.
  • Provides assistance and direction on outside service and repair work, and assists outside representatives in repairing building equipment.
  • Checks landscaping and irrigation system needs.
  • Maintains grounds, parking lots, and driveways.
  • Provides emergency 24-hour on-call service as required.
  • Completes assigned maintenance functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and ADA/OSHA regulations.
  • Assists in setting up new branches and departments.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE

This part-time position requires three 8-hour shifts per week.

The days are flexible and can be tailored to accommodate individual availability and business needs.

ON CALL REQUIREMENT

Must be available to provide emergency 24/7-hour on-call service as required.

TRAVEL

This position will travel frequently to address maintenance requests to all branches within the Kemba Credit Union network in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: A minimum of one of the following: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Valid/Unexpired driver's license required.

Required Knowledge

Knowledge of janitorial equipment and maintenace procedures.

Basic understanding of blueprints and the operation of electrical, mechanical, heating, cooling, and plumbing equipment.

Experience Required

One year to three years of previous maintenance experience required.

Financial institution equipment experience preferred (Drive-Thru/CCTV/Alarms/Locks).

Skills/Abilities

Good mechanical and problem solving abilities.

Well organized and able to work independently.

Able to coordinate well with others and assist others professionally.

Attentive to detail.

Able to operate drills, electrical tools, meters, timers, hand tools, and all related machinery.
