Facilities Technician

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview

The Facilities Technician plays a key role in maintenance of all GECU facilities, including grounds upkeep, in addition to maintaining and servicing company vehicles.

Essential Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance of all GECU facilities, which can include minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs
• Replacing ceiling tiles, wall repair, touch up painting, door and lock repair, carpet repairs, replace/repair soap, paper dispensers, thermostats, filters and replace lighting.
• Move office furniture, hang pictures, test exit signs and replace batteries.
• Update and maintain records of service calls at each location using Credit Union system
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly maintenance checks
• Collaborate with Facilities Supervisor to contact outside contractors to complete repairs when necessary
• Pick up and deliver supplies from vendors or stores when necessary
• Facilitate company vehicle maintenance for facilities and courier vehicles including maintaining gas levels, facilitating car detailing, and delivering vehicles to and from the auto shop
• Perform other duties to support the Facilities Department as needed

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in facilities maintenance or similar role required
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and ability to be insured under General Electric Credit Union's insurance policy

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic maintenance skills with the ability to assess, plan, and complete repairs
• Good time management skills, capable of adapting as priorities change
• Sense of urgency to solve problems and respond to emergency situations promptly
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn Microsoft Office products and credit union systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Capable of lifting to 40 pounds
• Ability to maneuver in tight spaces and climb a ladder
