Nassau Candy Distributors, Inc. in Hicksville seeks a Facilities Technician to maintain manufacturing plant facilities onsite. You will perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety and operational standards are met.

The role collaborates with maintenance teams to minimize downtime, operate tools, interpret manuals, and keep thorough records for a well‑maintained facility that supports production.

We are currently hiring a well-rounded and skilled Facilities Technician to work full-time onsite in our Hicksville location.

About the Role:

The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of manufacturing plant facilities.

This position is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and plumbing issues, and ensuring all equipment and infrastructure meet safety and operational standards.

The Facilities Technician will work closely with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and support continuous production processes. This role requires a hands‑on approach to repair and upkeep, utilizing a variety of tools and technical knowledge to maintain facility systems. Ultimately, the Facilities Technician contributes to a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained manufacturing environment that supports overall business objectives.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related technical role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in plumbing and general mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Strong ability to comprehend and interpret technical instructions and maintenance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certification or vocational training in facility maintenance, plumbing, or mechanical systems.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of electrical systems and HVAC maintenance.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a focus on manufacturing equipment.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial facility.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, mechanical systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure optimal operation.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to facility equipment using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Interpret technical instructions, blueprints, and maintenance manuals to execute repairs and maintenance tasks accurately.
• Utilize measuring devices to assess equipment performance and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
