Job summary

Riverhead Building Supply Corp. seeks an Experienced Maintenance & Facilities professional to support multiple retail locations, showrooms and lumberyards across Long Island, NY. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repairs of plant equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2–3 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
• Aptitude for mechanics and/or machinery is required; experience in plumbing, lighting, HVAC, machinery, and construction preferred.
• Prior experience with maintenance and facilities operations is essential to perform duties safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain plant facility equipment and systems.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, and test adjustments.
• Carry out plumbing, carpentry, and basic mechanical tasks.
• Use hand and power tools and electrical meters to perform duties.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas in compliance with safety regulations.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with a team at multiple Retail locations, Design Showrooms and lumberyards across Long Island, New York.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain plant facility’s equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
