Job summary

A leading entertainment company in Bangor, Maine is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and maintenance of tools and machinery. The ideal candidate will ensure safety compliance and support sanitation processes. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, and be proficient in Microsoft applications. The role involves a variety of tasks, including ensuring the safe operation of the property and interacting effectively across departments.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or six months related experience preferred.
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, percentages).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled repair and maintenance of machinery and tools.
  • Support all sanitation processes, including rodent and pest control.
  • Implement and monitor controls for compliance with laws and policies.
  • Directly or indirectly supports exterior grounds activities, including snow removal, grass cutting, landscaping, the parking garage and other exterior area needs.
  • Supports sanitation processes and procedures including rodent and pest control.
  • Performs painting, structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, wallpaper and furnishings of buildings.
  • Performs all Grand Stand maintenance activities.
  • Directly or indirectly supports the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and water distribution, including fire suppression and sewerage facilities.
  • Ensures OSHA compliance and acts as an active participant in safety compliance.
  • Interacts effectively across departmental lines and works as a team player.

Responsibilities
  • Performs scheduled and nonscheduled repair, maintenance and installation of machinery, tools, equipment and/or associated equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of the property
  • Performs scheduled and nonscheduled repair, maintenance and installation of machinery, tools, equipment and/or associated equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of the property
  • Performs preventative maintenance in conjunction with all building maintenance and/or cleanliness related items
  • Submits requests for expenditures associated with repairs, upkeep, and improvement to the Director of Facilities
  • Directly or indirectly supports all exterior grounds activities, including snow removal, grass cutting, landscaping, the parking garage and other exterior area needs
  • Supports all sanitation processes and procedures including rodent and pest control
  • Performs painting, structural repairs t masonry, woodwork, wallpaper and treatments, and furnishings of buildings
  • Performs all Grand Stand maintenance activities
  • Directly or indirectly supports the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and water distribution, including fire suppression and sewerage facilities
  • Accounting for OSHA compliance at Hollywood Slots Hotel and Raceway. Will be an active participant of Safety compliance
  • Implements and monitors controls designed to assure full compliance with all federal, state, corporate and property laws, policies and/or mandates
  • Must be able to interact effectively and positively across departmental lines
  • Must be a team player
  • Limited supervisory requirements as assigned
  • Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
  • Must be a minimum or 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
  • Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communicating skills
  • Basic math sills such as adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the state in which you reside. In addition to the pre-employment background check, this position will be subject to periodic checks of your driving record in order to determine your continued suitability to drive company and/or patron vehicles
  • Physical mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
