Job summary

Meeting Street in Providence, RI is seeking a Facilities Team Member to perform building, mechanical, electrical and carpentry maintenance. The role requires 5 years in facilities maintenance and a valid driver's license; lodging and travel to MA sites may be needed.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with training offered and overtime for events. Benefits include paid holidays, PTO and health coverage options.

Qualifications

  • Trade school, high school or GED is required.
  • 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to obtain Accredited Pool Operator certification.
  • Maintenance experience in a school system preferred.
  • Operate hand and floor power tools.
  • Operate tractor and snow blower and similar equipment.
  • Climb ladders and perform work on the roof.
  • Ability to lift loads more than 40 pounds.
  • Overtime may be required for telethon, events and emergencies.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM.
  • Based in Providence; travel to Dartmouth and New Bedford, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair.
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Maintain agency vehicles and make minor repairs.
  • Maintain the swimming pool and equipment and perform water testing.
  • Repair and construct special equipment for clients’ needs.
  • Disarm security system at the facility each morning.
  • Check and reset security and fire panel breaches after hours.
  • Utilize the maintenance program to track and complete work orders.
  • Set up and break down seating and equipment for meetings/conferences.

The hourly rate based on related experience is $19.80 to $24.38. Meeting Street is currently looking for a Facilities Team Member for 40 hours per week. Meeting Street is wiling to train and no experience is necessary.

Duties
  • Performs general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair.
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (i.e., drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures).
  • Maintain agency vehicles and make minor repairs.
  • Maintain the swimming pool and equipment associated with it. Perform and record pool water testing and documents results and follow established standards and guidelines.
  • Repair and construct special equipment for clients’ needs.
  • Disarm security system at the facility each morning.
  • Check and reset security and fire panel breaches when called after hours.
  • Utilize the maintenance request and preventive maintenance program to track and complete assigned work orders timely and efficiently.
  • Set up and break down of seating and equipment for meetings and/or conferences.

Requirements
  • Trade school/High School/GED

  • Willing to work overtime during the telethon, special events and to meet facility scheduled and emergency requirements.
  • Position hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM
  • Position is based in Providence, however, will have to work in the Dartmouth and New Bedford, MA locations.
