Job summary

Meeting Street in Providence, RI is hiring a Facilities Team Member for 40 hours per week. We train; no experience required. This role performs general maintenance and repairs to keep our facilities safe and functional.

You will handle plumbing, electrical, carpentry, pool maintenance, security systems, and general repairs, with opportunities to contribute to a positive, inclusive environment and support for a broad range of student programming.

Qualifications

• Trade school or high school/GED required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
• Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and own transportation.
• Willingness to obtain Accredited Pool Operator certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry and building systems.
• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair.
• Maintain agency vehicles and swim pool and equipment, test water and document results.
• Repair and construct equipment for clients’ needs.
• Set up and break down seating and equipment for meetings and events.

The hourly rate based on related experience is $19.80 to $24.38.

Meeting Street is currently looking for a Facilities Team Member for 40 hours per week. Meeting Street is wiling to train and no experience is necessary.

Duties

• Performs general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry and building systems.
• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair.
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (i.e., drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures).
• Maintain agency vehicles and make minor repairs.
• Maintain the swimming pool and equipment associated with it. Perform and record pool water testing and documents results and follow established standards and guidelines.
• Repair and construct special equipment for clients’ needs.
• Disarm security system at the facility each morning.
• Check and reset security and fire panel breaches when called after hours.
• Utilize the maintenance request and preventive maintenance program to track and complete assigned work orders timely and efficiently.
• Set up and break down of seating and equipment for meetings and/or conferences.

Requirements

• Trade school/High School/GED
• 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
• Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills.
• Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to provide own transportation.
• Willingness to obtain Accredited Pool Operator certification through Meeting Street.
• Maintenance experience in a school system is preferred.
• Operate hand and floor power tools.
• Operate tractor and snow blower and similar equipment.
• Climb ladders and perform work on the roof.
• Ability to lift loads more than 40 pounds.
