Job summary

The Levitt Center for University Advancement in Iowa City is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of building automation and mechanical systems. Under the Facilities Manager, you will tackle electrical and mechanical issues, assist with events, and supervise student workers.

You will monitor AHUs, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs with contractors, while ensuring safety and compliance across the campus facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Licenses or certifications such as electrical, HVAC, are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment and building systems.
• Assess maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with contractors.
• Troubleshoot building automation systems to diagnose and repair issues.
• Perform general carpentry tasks to maintain facility aesthetics.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and snow removal as needed.
• Maintain operating logs and comply with policies and procedures.
• Share on-call responsibilities and support after-hours as required.
