Job summary

The University of Iowa Center for Advancement seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Iowa City to ensure smooth operation of building automation and mechanical systems. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Licenses or certifications such as electrical, HVAC, and Building Operators Certification are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment and AHUs (Air Handling Units).
• Troubleshoot and repair building automation systems (BAS) such as Johnson Control, Daikin, Walchem water chemicals.
• Perform general carpentry, painting, drywall repair, carpet square installation, door repair, and hanging artwork.
• Assist with grounds maintenance including snow removal and lawn care, coordinating with contractors.
• Maintain operating logs, technical manuals, and other essential references.
• Collaborate on-call duties and potential overtime to ensure facility reliability.
