Job summary

The Town of Vail is seeking a Sweeper Operator / Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Department. This role supports mechanical maintenance workers in delivering clean, well-maintained facilities and related systems.

Duties include operating equipment, basic building and systems maintenance, and custodial tasks. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in mechanical maintenance, basic trades knowledge, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of mechanical, electrical or plumbing trades.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical procedures, tools, materials, and requirements.
• 1 - 2 years mechanical maintenance work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate small equipment daily (e.g., sweeper).
• Clean, maintain, and repair Town of Vail parking structures.
• Perform basic maintenance of heating, fire alarm, garage doors, compressors, gates and snow-melt systems.
• Carry out general building maintenance including plumbing and electrical tasks.
