Job summary

Wake Forest University is seeking a Surplus and Events Technician within Facilities Services to assist with movement, setup, and storage of surplus items and event supplies on campus.

The position requires strong customer service, effective communication, and the ability to operate pallet jacks, carts, and trucks, with flexibility for evenings or weekends as needed. Full-time, on-site role based in Winston-Salem, NC.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with one-year related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English to perform duties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with university customers at all levels.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexible to work as part of an integrated team to achieve goals.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with surplus management including collection, transportation, and delivery of surplus goods.
  • Assist with moving furniture/equipment for staff work location changes and room resets in residence halls.
  • Assist in setup/breakdown and storage of event-related supplies for indoor and outdoor events on Reynolda campus.
  • Operate material handling equipment and vehicles (pallet jacks, dollies, box trucks, golf carts).
  • Maintain clean and safe workspaces and complete work orders with hours and notes.
