Job summary

Wake Forest University is seeking a Surplus and Events Technician to assist with movement, setup, breakdown, and storage of surplus items and event supplies. You will provide strong customer service and collaborate with Facilities Services across campus, including after-hours and weekend opportunities as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with related experience, excellent communication, and flexibility to work in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with university customers across levels.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work as part of an integrated team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with surplus management including collection, transportation, and delivery of surplus goods.
  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment for faculty/staff relocations and residence hall renovations.
  • Support event setup, breakdown, and storage of supplies and equipment for indoor/outdoor events.
  • Operate material handling equipment and vehicles as required.
  • Complete work orders and input hours and notes in the system.
