Job summary

Wake Forest University is seeking a Surplus and Events Technician to assist with the movement, setup, breakdown, and storage of surplus items and event supplies on campus. You will provide excellent customer service and work closely with the Facilities Services Team to support department needs on Reynolda campus.

Responsibilities include transporting surplus goods, moving furniture for relocations, setting up event spaces, operating material handling equipment and trucks, and maintaining a clean

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with university customers across all levels.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; flexible and adaptable as part of an integrated team.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to meet auto insurance requirements.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google tools.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surplus management including collection, transportation, and delivery of surplus goods.
• Move furniture and equipment for faculty/staff relocations and room resets in residence halls.
• Assist with set up, breakdown, movement, and storage of event-related supplies and equipment.
• Operate material handling equipment and trucks.
• Staff open surplus hours and log hours/notes in work-order system.
• Maintain clean and safe warehouse/workspace; perform general maintenance as assigned.
