Job summary

MountainOne is seeking a Facilities Director in Massachusetts to oversee maintenance across district facilities. Responsibilities include supervising custodial staff, coordinating with the district director, and ensuring safe cleaning practices and supply management.

The role requires availability for emergencies outside regular hours and coordination of snow removal with public works. Operates heavy equipment as part of grounds and facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Director of Facilities when the Director is unavailable or out of the district.
• Assists in the supervision and assignment of custodial and facilities staff according to contractually agreed upon requirements.
• Assists in the training of custodial and facilities staff regarding performance expectations, the use and handling of chemical cleaning materials, and proper cleaning protocols according to safety standards.
• Maintains the inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand.
• Supervises in coordination with the Director of Facilities, and participates in preparation of playing fields, grounds, and other necessary facilities for athletics and other school activities.
• Must be available for emergencies that may arise when school is not in session, including night time, weekends, school holidays and vacations.
• Supervise in coordination with the Director of Facilities, and participate in snow removal and coordinates snow removal and sanding with the Highway Department.
• Operates tractors, light trucks, and related equipment.
• Operates specialized equipment such as snow plows, bucket loaders, etc.
• Applies understanding of small tools to maintenance and repair problems.
• Applies knowledge of maintenance of grounds with specific application to grass, trees, shrubs, ball fields, etc.
• Repairs small machinery and equipment.
• Applies knowledge of waxes, cleaners, and specific mixing applications.
• Applies knowledge of maintenance areas such as roofs, boilers, plumbing, electrical, hardware, paint, etc.
• Other duties relating to maintenance may be assigned by the Director of Facilities.
