Job summary

Marblehead Public Schools is seeking a Marblehead Public-Director of Facilities to oversee planning, operation and maintenance of district facilities and staff. The role ensures facilities meet evolving academic needs, manages capital projects and energy conservation, and maintains safe campuses.

The Director oversees buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, grounds, and maintenance staff, coordinating with district leadership and town partners.

Qualifications

• Experience managing district/large-scale facilities operations.
• Ability to develop capital improvement plans and manage budgets.
• Knowledge of safety, OSHA, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of a detailed Capital Improvement Plan to improve facilities.
• Interface and coordinate with local town departments, public works staff, police and fire departments.
• Facilitate solicitation of service contracts, design and construction services and other consultants as needed.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff and participate in hiring decisions.
• Conduct inspections and address fire, safety or health hazards and coordination of related issues.
• Oversee safety, security and building systems maintenance and audits.
• Coordinate large projects including deferred maintenance and energy projects.
• Read blueprints and ensure conformance with codes and standards.
