YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a Facilities Superintendent to oversee maintenance, budgets, and improvement projects for the facilities and vehicles. You will coordinate preventive plans, supervise staff and contractors, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, prioritizing capital projects, and maintaining strong safety and reliability of equipment.

Qualifications

• College degree or 1–2 years related job experience.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication and human relations skills.
• Driver’s license with acceptable MVR for YMCA vehicle operations.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance-related areas.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
• Preferred Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance and preventative maintenance plans and budgets.
• Ensure proper operation of all mechanical systems and oversee repairs.
• Manage contractors and review bids as needed.
• Develop annual capital plans aligned with the YMCA’s strategic goals.
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers; evaluate performance.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment per policy and safety standards.
• Support fundraising and other management initiatives as required.

OverviewThe Facilities Superintendent directs the maintenance and improvement operations of YMCA of Northern Colorado facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets.View all openings, learn more about our benefits, and apply online today at https://www.ymcanoco.org/careers.ResponsibilitiesProvides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developingpreventative maintenance.Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids and recommend selection of contractors.Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.Participates with other members of management in the YMCA’s fundraising campaign.Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.Updates facility plans periodically.
