• Possession of a high school diploma or GED and 3 years experience in building maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction practices and methods.
• Ability to safely operate power tools, construction equipment, and heavy machinery.
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, carrying, climbing, and bending.

• Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and surrounding areas; clean work areas after completion.
• Move or assist with moving furniture and equipment as necessary to complete work.
• Safely use and maintain painting tools, ladders, equipment, and supplies.

• Perform interior and exterior painting at company facilities, including walls, ceilings, doors, trim, offices, common areas, residential areas, and other surfaces.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching holes, repairing minor drywall damage, caulking, priming, and completing other necessary preparation.
• Apply paint, stain, sealant, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other appropriate equipment.
• Perform routine touch-up painting and cosmetic repairs to maintain the appearance and condition of facilities.
• Match existing paint colors and finishes when completing repairs and touch-ups.
• Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and surrounding areas prior to beginning work and ensure work areas are properly cleaned upon completion.
• Move or assist with moving furniture and equipment as necessary to complete assigned work.
• Safely use and maintain painting tools, ladders, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of paint, materials, and supplies and communicate purchasing needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Estimate the materials and time needed to complete assigned projects.
• Coordinate work with Facilities staff, program leadership, and other team members to minimize disruption to normal operations.
• Prioritize and complete work assignments based on organizational needs, safety considerations, and established timelines.

Minimum Educationand/or Experience:

Possession of highschool diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years experience in building maintenance andrepair; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that providethe following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

• Knowledge of building maintenance, repair, renovation,and construction practices, procedures, and methods.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of carpentry,electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to effectively and safely operate a variety ofpower tools, construction equipment, and heavy machinery and vehicles.
• Ability to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilledbuilding maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
• Ability to perform physical labor including but notlimited to lifting, carrying, climbing, walking, reaching, and bending.
• Ability to work outdoors exposed to extreme weatherconditions including sun, wind, rain.
• Ability to use care and proper protective equipment whenexposed to bio-hazardous materials.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles.
• Abilityto communicate effectively with other employees, contractors, outsideagencies, and the general public.

Necessary SpecialRequirements:

Possessionof a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof ofpersonal automobile insurance if required to drive an SMA vehicle and/or usea personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of Florida mandatorybackground screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during thefirst six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical:

Mobility and ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to liftminimum 50 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate,intervene, treat, and record client health care needs. Fine motor skills forlegible and accurate charting, daily correspondence and presentation, eithermanually or orally. Work endurance ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with ameal break, as possible. Routine 8-12hour shifts. Hours and days offmay vary. Extra hours may be required. Work assignment locations may vary.
