Job summary

Viva Senior Living seeks an Environmental Service Director to oversee the safety, maintenance and appearance of the community campus. You will lead maintenance and housekeeping staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage routine inspections and repairs to uphold resident comfort and safety.

The role requires strong English communication, compassionate care, and collaboration with the Executive Director.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Compassion and dignity for residents in all interactions.
• Ability to work well with peers in a congenial environment.
• Adherence to attendance policies and workplace rules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the building and campus are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
• Comply with federal, state, and local rules/regulations.
• Provide grounds, building maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Hire, educate, evaluate, and terminate maintenance & housekeeping staff as needed.
• Operate within budget for the department and monitor expenditures.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate with outside contractors when needed and approved.
• Maintain and update work orders and ensure timely completion.
