Job summary

Seamen's Society for Children and Families is seeking a facilities maintenance coordinator to ensure buildings, equipment, and vehicles are safe and well-maintained across Staten Island and Brooklyn locations.

The role requires trade certification or related experience, with a valid driver’s license and FDNY fitness certificates. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for coordinating vendors, inspections, and records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, metal stud framing.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain logs.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, plan and coordinate preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
• Perform repairs, cleaning, deliveries, painting, basic plumbing, moving furniture.
• Monitor supplies, stock and distribute facility items across locations.
• Inspect buildings and coordinate monthly inspections, including Brooklyn visits.
• Log deficiencies and recommend improvements to management.
• Maintain records to track maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate quotes with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure security, fire, safety and emergency systems are operational.
