Eden II Program is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair agency sites, and support preventative maintenance plans across multiple locations in New York. The role requires readiness for after-hours snow/ice work to keep sites safe for participants and staff.
You'll act as the liaison with outside vendors, participate in fire drills, and supervise fire alarm systems at NYC sites. A valid license and 5+ years in maintenance/ construction are required.
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the ongoing maintenance & amp; repair of the agency sites. This includes following scheduled maintenance plans and completing unforeseen repairs. Assist Facilities management team in creating/ modifying preventative maintenance plans for all sites. Provide supplemental snow removal in a timely manner to ensure the safety of program sites for participants and staff. Hours outside of regular business hours will be required during snow/ ice events. Serves as the contact person for outside vendors working at the agency sites. The Maintenance Mechanic will be available to conduct fire/ emergency drills at all agency locations and also serve as supervisor of fire alarm systems at NYC locations with fire alarm systems.
High School diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license with good driving history. Minimum of 5 years prior experience in maintenance/ construction field. Ability to perform physical labor both indoors and outdoors in all weatherconditions (includes snow removal). Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures & techniques. Possess solid experience in electrical, plumbing, drywall and carpentry skills. Holds/willing to obtain both FDNY Certificates of Fitness (F-07 and S-95) Availability to work overtime both before and after regular business hours. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
