Job summary

Freedom Village Holland is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to join our campus near downtown Holland, MI. You will collaborate with vendors to prioritize and execute unit renovations while ensuring quality and timeliness.

The role requires 1–2 years of maintenance experience and working knowledge of essential systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1–2 years of maintenance experience in residential or commercial settings preferred.
• Working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances; HVAC knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors to prioritize and schedule unit renovations through to completion.
• Maintain adequate materials and supplies for the campus to ensure timely task completion.
• Assist other maintenance staff on various projects or repairs as needed.
• Work a reasonable amount of scheduled and on-call overtime as necessary.

Full-time. Responsibilities include collaborating with established vendors to prioritize, schedule unit renovations through project completion. Must be highly organized, have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as a member of a team and work with vendors to ensure quality and timeliness. Maintenance or related industry experience preferred.

Will assist other Maintenance personnel, when necessary, in the completion of various projects or repairs including campus snow removal.

Assists in maintaining proper levels of materials and supplies for the campus to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.

Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and "on-call" overtime as necessary.

Performs additional duties requested by the Supervisor and the Director of General Services in order to ensure the effective and efficient operation within the community.

Attendance is essential to this job. Must also maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance policy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances. Must have knowledge of HVAC.
Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff. Must function under general supervision. Must be flexible and have integrity. Must possess the ability of effectively work with residents and staff.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School or GED. Should possess 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction or maintenance. Project management: 1 year (Preferred)
