Job summary

In-N-Out Burger in Franklin, TN is seeking a dedicated Day Porter to join our campus facilities team. This full-time, in-office role keeps lobbies, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, and exterior areas clean and welcoming throughout the day.

You will stock break room supplies, assist with events, move furniture, support executive spaces with discretion, and help ensure safety and compliance. A high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience are preferred; valid TN driver’s license

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3+ years experience as a Day Porter, building attendant, custodial, hospitality, or facilities support.
  • 1–3+ years experience in a commercial office or campus environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and chemical handling.
  • Familiarity with break room and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact with all levels including executives.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds; long shifts.
  • Valid TN Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in lobbies, restrooms, and common areas with routine rounds.

General Responsibilities
  • Common Area and Restroom Maintenance - Perform continuous rounds throughout all campus buildings to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in lobbies, corridors, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, and shared workspaces. Address spills, debris, and housekeeping issues as they arise throughout the business day. Supplement contracted janitorial services by performing touch-up cleaning, spot mopping, restroom refresh checks, and general tidying between scheduled janitorial service periods.
  • Break Room and Supply Replenishment - Stock and maintain all campus break rooms including coffee and beverage stations, refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, ice machines, and specialty break room equipment. Replenish paper goods, cleaning supplies, and restroom consumables across all buildings. Monitor inventory levels, coordinate supply orders with the supervisor, and ensure all consumable stations are fully stocked and presentable throughout the day.
  • Conference Room and Workspace Readiness - Prepare, reset, and maintain all conference rooms, huddle rooms, and collaborative workspaces to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for use. Reset furniture arrangements after meetings, restock supplies (markers, notepads, sanitizing wipes), verify AV equipment is in order, and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance staff. Perform daily walk-throughs to confirm all meeting spaces meet company presentation standards.
  • Event Setup and Breakdown - Support internal events, training programs, and special occasions by setting up and breaking down furniture, signage, catering service areas, and related equipment. Coordinate with events, marketing, and university program teams as directed by the supervisor. Ensure event spaces are returned to standard configuration promptly after use.
  • Furniture Moves and Minor Workspace Reconfigurations - Assist with furniture assembly, desk moves, workstation reconfigurations, and minor space adjustments to support associate seating changes and departmental needs. Coordinate with maintenance staff on tasks requiring tools or building system adjustments.
  • Executive and Sensitive Area Support - Provide attentive and discreet facility services to executive leadership areas, conference suites, and other sensitive spaces on campus. Respond promptly to service requests from executive offices, maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation in these areas, and handle all information encountered in the course of duties with strict confidentiality.
  • Exterior and Grounds Presentation - Monitor the appearance of building entryways, patios, courtyards, sidewalks, parking areas, and other exterior spaces. Pick up litter and debris, address minor outdoor housekeeping needs, and report landscaping or exterior maintenance issues to the supervisor. Coordinate with landscaping and pest control service providers as directed.
  • Receiving and Deliveries Support - Assist with receiving, moving, and distributing deliveries of supplies, equipment, and vendor materials across campus. Support mail and package handling during high-volume periods as needed. Ensure loading dock and receiving areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Safety and Compliance - Maintain a safe and clean work environment in all areas of responsibility. Follow proper handling and storage procedures for cleaning chemicals and supplies. Participate in safety drills, evacuation exercises, and building inspections as directed. Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and near-miss incidents promptly to the supervisor.
  • Gym and Amenity Area Support - Support the upkeep of campus amenity spaces including the gym/fitness center and shower facilities. Restock towels, sanitizing supplies, and related consumables. Report equipment issues to the appropriate vendor or the supervisor.
Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Non-exempt, Hourly
  • Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-4:00 pm
  • Must be available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work to support building events, special programs, or extended campus operating hours

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; required
  • 1-3+ years experience in a previous role as a Day Porter, building attendant, custodial, hospitality, or facilities support; required
  • 1-3+ years experience working in a commercial office, corporate campus, hotel, or similar professional environment; required
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Basic proficiency in ServiceNow or equivalent CMMS/ticketing platform for viewing and updating work orders
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products, and equipment appropriate for a Class A office environment
  • Understanding of proper chemical handling and storage procedures
  • Familiarity with break room and kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards
  • Strong communication skills; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization including executive leadership
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs throughout the day.
  • Physically capable of sustained standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout a full shift
  • Self-directed work ethic with the ability to identify and address issues proactively without waiting for direction
  • High level of discretion and professionalism, particularly when working in or around executive and sensitive areas
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds
  • Valid TN Driver's License required
