Job summary

The City of Compton is seeking an experienced Plumber for City facilities. Under general supervision, you will install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures and equipment and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Required qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, a plumbing apprenticeship or 5 years of related experience, and a valid California Class C driver's license. Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and tools is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years related experience or completion of a plumbing apprenticeship.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License required.
• Knowledge of City codes, plumbing codes, and basic safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures and equipment in City facilities.
• Threads piping, bends piping and connects joints by welding, brazing, soldering, gluing, caulking, or threading.
• Establishes safe work area and coordinates activities with the public as necessary.
• Completes routine reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
• Participates in preventive maintenance and basic project tasks as needed.
