Job summary

UniFirst in Salt Lake City is seeking a Maintenance Utility Worker to support building and equipment systems. You will perform plant cleaning, basic maintenance, painting, and light equipment tasks while assisting with loading/unloading deliveries and yard upkeep.

This role includes on-the-job training and a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional night and weekend overtime, plus benefits such as 401K with company match, health insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must operate powered industrial equipment and use basic hand/power tools.
• Ability to read and understand procedures in English.
• Strong communication and ability to respond to questions.
• Overtime availability may be required.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Paint tasks around plant or exterior areas.
• Relocate materials using powered lifts and forklifts.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and receiving activities.
• Maintain facilities upkeep including landscaping and snow removal.
• Conduct routine maintenance like trench screen cleaning and bulb replacements.
• Operating Company vehicles after training and certification.
