Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding seeks an experienced facilities and project manager to plan space and facilities for efficiency and budget alignment, while directing maintenance and large-scale projects from concept through implementation.

You will define requirements, negotiate contracts, establish budgets, and lead reviews of cost, schedule, and technical performance. This role coordinates staff and ensures milestones are met.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree with relevant exempt experience or equivalent.
• Alternative degrees or military equivalencies may satisfy minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans utilization of space and facilities for efficiency and budgeting.
• Directs and manages all phases of equipment maintenance and facilities projects from concept to implementation.
• Ensures requirements are defined; negotiates contracts and changes; establishes budgets and financial terms.
• Acts as primary contact for facilities and maintenance; leads cost/schedule/technical reviews.
• Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules.
• Identifies problems and develops resource allocation solutions.
• May coordinate the work of project staff.

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience

Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience

High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience

High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
