Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks an experienced facilities and project management professional to plan utilization of space and manage maintenance, modifications, and building projects from design concept through implementation. The role requires coordinating budgets and schedules, defining project requirements, and leading a team across cost, schedule, and technical performance reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required with 3+ years of relevant exempt experience or Master’s Degree with 1+ year of relevant experience.
Equivalency options: NNS Apprentice School graduate; NNPS graduate; 2-year program plus 2 years exempt; 4 years non-exempt; E-5 or higher military experience; high school/GED plus combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience (various combinations).

Responsibilities

Plan utilization of space and facilities to maximize organizational efficiency.
Plan, direct, and manage all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification, and building projects from design to implementation.
Define project requirements, negotiate contracts, establish budgets, and identify cost/schedule/technical performance metrics.
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans, budgets, and schedules; coordinate the work of project personnel.
