Job summary

The State of South Dakota, Department of the Military, is seeking an East River Physical Plant Manager I to oversee facilities across multiple communities in eastern SD. The role directs maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related operations with a 10-hour workday schedule.

You will travel extensively within eastern SD, hold a valid driver's license, and may be based in Sioux Falls or Watertown. A CAC/clearance is required and veteran preference applies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of record keeping and report writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Occupational hazards and safety precautions for maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of building construction methods.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of custodial services.
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, supervises, and inspects facility repairs and renovations to meet schedules and budget.
• Develops preventive maintenance schedules for all facilities and equipment.
• Monitors work orders and prioritizes tasks.
• Reviews invoices and ensures procurement policies are followed.
• Monitors contractor performance for compliance and quality.
