Job summary

County of Bucks is seeking an Operations Manager for General Services to oversee maintenance, improvements, and safety across county buildings, dams, parks, and properties. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate vehicle and equipment programs to ensure reliable facilities operations.

The role requires five years of management experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a CDL. Strong knowledge of building trades and preventive maintenance is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have staff supervision experience and ability to manage trades and related functions.
  • Strong budgeting and cost-control experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in a facilities environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all General Services operations, maintenance, and repairs for county buildings, properties, dams, parks.
  • Assign work, set schedules, interview, train and develop subordinates; control operating costs.
  • Develop and manage a countywide equipment maintenance program.
  • Schedule and supervise general maintenance activities including building systems and grounds.
  • Develop employee-training programs and provide technical instruction to staff.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitor department expenditures.
  • Ensure security of tools, materials, and facilities; support emergency response as needed.
  • Handle employee grievances and perform related duties as required by the Director of Operations.
