Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 2 to maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and grounds across Montgomery County. The role relies on mechanical, repair, and problem-solving skills to support both office and field staff, keeping assets safe and functional for daily operations.

Duties include building and system maintenance, equipment repairs, supporting field crews, operating loaders and hand tools, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years of building/plant maintenance with at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the required knowledges, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair buildings, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and fire safety equipment.
• Repair machinery, small engines, tools, and vehicles; record maintenance details.
• Support field crews by delivering fuel, gathering parts, mowing lawns, removing snow and other manual tasks.
• Operate loaders, forklifts, man lifts, and a variety of hand tools.
• Inspect fire extinguishers, track safety supplies, and follow procedures to keep areas secure.
• Clean offices, garages, and grounds; paint surfaces; assist storeroom operations.
