Job summary

RI Council 94 seeks a Building & Grounds Officer to supervise maintenance, repair, and construction programs for facilities under the Division of Facilities Management. The role oversees staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure safety, code compliance, and efficient operation.

You will approve invoices, prepare cost estimates, and assist in purchasing and contracts, with emphasis on energy management and indoor air quality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of building services and mechanical equipment.
• Working knowledge of fire, health and safety standards and codes.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and review work for conformance to objectives and policies.
• Experience supervising staff, vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement a comprehensive operations, maintenance, repair and construction program for facilities.
• Direct supervision of facilities personnel, including vendors and contractors.
• Inspect and ensure conformance to plans, specifications, contracts and codes.
• Oversee boilers and HVAC maintenance programs within the division.
• Prepare cost estimates, vouchers, and approvals for payments.
