Job summary

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator works closely with the Director of Facilities to maintain the City of Westfield's grounds, buildings and equipment to help ensure the safety and security of all City facilities. Performs responsible duties requiring a high degree of individual initiative and independence from direct supervision consistent with City policies.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in facilities maintenance or related field.
• One year experience in maintenance of large institutional, municipal or commercial buildings.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary backup to the facilities director and oversee daily operations in their absence.
• Assist with the care and maintenance of equipment and building systems (heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical).
• Coordinate inspections with vendors or agencies and manage schedules.
• Support custodial staff scheduling and assignments to meet cleanliness and safety standards.
• Manage work orders, track progress, and handle requisitions and accounts payable duties.
• Respond to emergency calls and take corrective actions as needed.
