The CITY OF WESTFIELD seeks a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to oversee grounds, buildings and equipment, ensuring safety and security across City facilities. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the role requires initiative, reliability and adherence to City policies.

Employee works under the general direction of the Director of Facilities.

Associates degree in facilities maintenance or related field. One year experience in maintenance of large institutional, municipal or commercial buildings. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. Valid driver’s license required.
Work is generally conducted both inside and outside of municipal buildings. Ability to travel throughout all areas of the various facilities including but not limited to confined areas, crawl spaces, attics, basements, pits and trench excavations, is required. Work is largely physical in nature including standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and squatting, with lifting of up to 75 pounds (may be heavier with assistance), and may be bulky with some pulling and pushing or reaching. May carry 30-50 pounds. May require climbing.
The employee is required on occasion to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions such as rain, snow and hot/cold extremes. At times the employee will be required to work in or near interior and/or exterior construction related work environments.
The work requires motor skills for assigned activities
Visual demands require routinely reading documents for general understanding and analytical purposes as well as operate motor vehicles and other equipment. Hearing demands require the ability to received detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sounds.

This is a full time, 35 hour a week position.
