Job summary

The University of Rochester seeks a Facilities Manager to ensure optimal operation of university facilities. You will oversee design, construction, modification and maintenance of buildings, and collaborate with leaders, architects, and contractors to deliver safe, compliant projects.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff supervision, scheduling, and ensuring health, safety, and regulatory compliance while advancing efficiency and service levels across campus facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, technical, civil or industrial engineering, construction, or other relevant technical field and 5 years of experience required
• Master's degree preferred
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience managing operations and maintenance of large educational or medical facilities required

Responsibilities

• Inspects facilities and coordinates repairs and improvements.
• Manages maintenance, repair, and alteration projects.
• Plans budgets and monitors labor, materials, and costs.
• Supervises staff, conducts performance reviews, and supports professional development.
• Collaborates with departments and external partners to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
