Job summary

Southwest Baptist University seeks an Assistant Director of Facilities to administer and direct programs ensuring safe, well-maintained university facilities. You will set maintenance priorities, supervise facilities staff, and enforce environmental and safety regulations.

You will manage custodial, grounds, and maintenance services, maintain safety programs, and oversee equipment schedules while building strong relationships with campus stakeholders. On-call responsibilities are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• Three or more years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to supervise and train employees, organize and prioritize work.
• Effective communication, both oral and written.
• On-call at all hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and coordinates custodial, grounds, and maintenance work orders using the campus system.
• Maintains comprehensive safety programs for custodial, grounds, and maintenance trades.
• Develops and oversees maintenance, service, and replacement schedule for grounds equipment.
• Field after hours emergency calls and contact the appropriate tradesperson.
• Develops relationships with internal and external constituents across campus.
• Communicates professionally with diverse backgrounds.
• Attends professional development seminars related to responsibilities.
• Maintains documentation of employee performance and behavior.
• Inspects areas to ensure standards of cleanliness are met.
• Maintains MSDS for chemicals used and stored in inventory.
• Responsible for employee time sheet approvals.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Sets an example of a Christian lifestyle and adheres to Southwest Baptist University’s Principles.
