Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain critical facility systems across client properties. The role centers on expertise in a primary craft—Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—while developing multi-skilled capabilities across other trades.

You will lead preventive maintenance, inventory control, and contractor coordination, performing hands-on repairs to ensure safe, compliant, and high-performance facilities.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
• Ability to analyze operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems and take corrective action.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to facility systems to keep them up to standards.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contractor oversight.
• Inspect, calibrate, and service HVAC and related equipment to ensure reliability.
• Record readings and adjust equipment, documenting findings in maintenance systems.
• Monitor outside contractors’ work for cost-effectiveness and standards.
