Job summary

The Office of General Services (OGS) in Utica, NY is seeking custodial staff to clean buildings, restrooms, and surrounding areas, restock supplies, and perform routine maintenance. You will move furniture, replace bulbs, and operate cleaning equipment as part of daily custodial duties.

Additionally, you will be responsible for trash disposal, lawn care, snow removal, and handling hazardous materials safely.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position.
• Preferred qualifications include being able to read, speak, and understand English and possessing a NYS driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Clean buildings, facilities, restrooms and restock supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and surrounding grounds using the appropriate tools and equipment.
• Perform trash collection and disposal, lawn mowing, and snow removal by shovel or powered equipment.
• Move furniture and equipment in the performance of custodial tasks.
• Replace light bulbs and clean fixtures, furnishings, floors, corridors, stairs, stairwells, and partitions using appropriate supplies.
• Pick up and remove hazardous articles from floors and equipment and place them in designated receptacles or appropriate locations.
