Job summary

NYS Office of General Services is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, store, and distribute food and commodities in a NYS facility. You will locate items by code, pack date, and best buy date, then transport and palletize shipments for pickup or delivery.

The role requires the ability to lift 45 pounds, operate forklifts/pallet jacks, and maintain inventory records. OSHA forklift training and CPR certification may be required. Shift is Mon-Fri, 6:00AM–2:30PM.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
• OSHA forklift training and certification is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification and comply with safety procedures.

Note:

Operating Needs

• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required. Operation of a motor vehicle will be required.


• Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time.


• Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds.


• Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Successful completion of OSHA forklift training and certification is required.


• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and comply with established safety procedures.


• Flexibility to work in environments of fluctuating temperatures including limited periods outside, year-round.


• May be required to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00AM – 2:30PM.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants must be able to read, speak, and understand English, and must possess a valid New York State motor vehicle operator’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
