Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Operating Engineer in Fairfax, VA to help maintain and optimize building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance across premier commercial properties.

The role requires 2–4 years of hands-on FM experience, EPA 608 Type II certification preferred, and the ability to work with CMMS/BAS systems in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
• Experience diagnosing malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Technical competency in at least one major building system and working knowledge of others.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, safety) for optimal performance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibrate components to extend system life.
• Record readings, monitor performance, and adjust operations to prevent issues.
• Coordinate with contractors and manage maintenance records and inventory.
