Job summary

Facilities Management is seeking an Operating Engineer to support day-to-day building performance across assigned properties in Charlotte, NC. You will perform hands-on maintenance, monitor systems, and contribute to safe, reliable building operations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in building maintenance, CMMS proficiency, and the ability to read safety rules and manuals. This is a contract-to-hire role with weekday schedules and on-call rotation; free parking is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance.
• Proficiency with CMMS software.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, diagrams and schedules.
• Ability to work in maintenance environments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, monitoring, and minor repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, and control systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC and related equipment for optimum performance.
• Record readings and adjust building systems for reliable operation across properties.
• Review monthly client service summaries to address recurring operational problems.
• Monitor quality and pricing of work by outside contractors to ensure value.
