We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

This post is based at/from our offices within Warwick District and is not suitable for home or hybrid working.

Working as part of a team of administrative staff and support workers, you will play a key role in ensuring our temporary accommodation stock is well managed, maintained to the required standard and readily available to meet local housing needs.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a proactive, organised and customer-focused Temporary Accommodation Facilities Officer to join our team supporting individuals and households living in temporary accommodation across Warwick District.

Experience in housing, property management, facilities, repairs and maintenance, or temporary accommodation would be beneficial. Most importantly, you will be proactive, detail-oriented and committed to supporting an effective service for individuals and households experiencing housing difficulties across Warwick District.

Main responsibilities

You will be responsible for overseeing the condition, availability and readiness of temporary accommodation properties, working closely with the Voids Team, repairs and maintenance services, contractors and colleagues across the wider service to ensure properties are turned around efficiently and made available for occupation as quickly as possible.

The role is essential to ensuring that individuals and households experiencing housing difficulties have access to safe, clean, suitable and well-maintained accommodation. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support the effective delivery of the temporary accommodation service, helping to minimise property downtime and make the best possible use of the accommodation available across Warwick District.

Oversee the temporary accommodation stock across Warwick District, maintaining accurate records of property condition, occupancy, availability and outstanding works.

Work closely with the Voids Team to coordinate property inspections, repairs, cleaning and preparation, ensuring vacant accommodation is returned to use promptly.

Undertake property inspections and readiness checks to ensure accommodation meets the required standards before individuals and households move in.

Monitor repairs, maintenance issues and property compliance, liaising with contractors and relevant teams to ensure issues are resolved within agreed timescales.

Identify properties that are unavailable or delayed from being brought back into use and proactively work with colleagues to resolve outstanding issues.

Work as part of a wider team of administrative staff and support workers, contributing to the effective day‑to‑day management of temporary accommodation and the support provided to residents.

Liaise with colleagues to ensure property‑related issues affecting residents are identified, communicated and addressed appropriately.

Monitor the condition and availability of furnishings, appliances, fixtures and fittings, arranging repairs or replacements where necessary.

Maintain accurate property records and provide updates on accommodation availability, outstanding repairs, turnaround times and performance.

Support compliance with relevant health and safety requirements, escalating any concerns relating to property condition, safety or suitability.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of temporary accommodation processes, helping to improve efficiency, reduce avoidable costs and maximise the use of available stock.

Maintain a professional, respectful and responsive approach when dealing with residents, colleagues, contractors and partner organisations.
