Job summary

Aerodyne Industries, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Facility Maintenance Engineer to join our space systems team. You will apply mechanical engineering principles to ensure the reliability of critical facilities and use AutoCAD to produce compliant drawings for NASA-related projects.

The role involves coordinating with JSC personnel, leading maintenance plans for cooling towers, LN2 storage, and vacuum systems, and delivering regular progress reports to senior engineering leadership.

Qualifications

  • This position typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining facility machinery including pumps, motors, blowers, and valves.
  • Experience with machine shop tools, tooling and tool specification.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to diagnose technical failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Proven track record of independently identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Familiar with safety relief valves and how to specify them.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in NASA/JSC processes and safety standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute reliability strategies for facility systems at NASA/JSC CTSD.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to design, test, and implement solutions using AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with JSC Pressure Systems for cooling tower, LN2 tank farm, oil/chemical storage, and vacuum systems, including WADs.
  • Lead maintenance plans for cooling tower, LN2 tanks, oil/chemical storage, vacuum pumps and blowers.
  • Track system health and schedule periodic maintenance and checks.
  • Develop technical specifications, SOWs, and cost estimates for procurement and installation for upgrades and space simulations chambers.
  • Collaborate with team to manage maintenance schedules and project lifecycles; report progress to leadership.
  • Demonstrate leadership, be self-motivated and organized; work independently.
  • Perform other duties as required.
