Job summary

Broadcom in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical design, operations and maintenance for our wafer fab and support areas. You will collaborate with electricians and a multidisciplinary engineering team to improve safety, quality, reliability and performance.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience with large industrial systems (air handlers, chillers, boilers, etc.), strong diagnostic and communication skills, and

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• 5+ years in operation/maintenance of large industrial systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork; lead projects when necessary.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements for mechanical design and maintenance.
• Establish cleanroom work practices and optimize construction activities.
• Evaluate and improve equipment for capacity and cost of ownership.
• Analyze failures and develop improvement plans for >99.9% facility uptime.
• Lead data projects like statistical process control to improve maintainability and detection of failures.
• Drive short-term hardware upgrades for safe and reliable operation.
• Plan long-term strategies including capital improvement plans with facility management.
• Provide design and mechanical engineering support on projects and review outsourced designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors on new construction and renovation projects.
