Job summary

Broadcom Inc. in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join the Wireless Semiconductor Division. You will support mechanical design, maintenance, and capital improvement planning for complex facilities and cleanroom environments.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, collaboration with engineers and project managers, and driving upgrades to improve uptime and efficiency. A BS in mechanical engineering and 5+ years with large industrial systems are required.

Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of operation/maintenance of large industrial systems (air handlers, chillers, boilers, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate across engineering, operations and management.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to work legally in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance and site policies for mechanical design and maintenance.
  • Establish cleanroom work practices and optimize construction activities.
  • Evaluate and improve equipment to meet capacity, capability and cost targets.
  • Analyze failures and develop improvement plans for high facility uptime (>99.9%).
  • Lead data projects like SPC to improve maintainability and reliability.
  • Drive short-term hardware upgrades for safe, stable operation.
  • Plan long-term capital improvement strategies with facility management.
  • Provide design support and review outsourced designs for facilities.
  • Collaborate with PMs, architects, engineers and contractors on new/renovation projects.

Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Location: Fort Collins, Colorado.

Job Description: Join our dynamic team as a Facilities Mechanical Engineer in the Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD) at Broadcom.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to applicable safety and regulatory requirements as well as site policies for mechanical design and maintenance
  • Establish cleanroom work practices and enable optimized cleanroom construction activities
  • Evaluate and improve existing equipment to maintain required capacity, capability and cost of ownership
  • Analyze failures and develop improvement plans to support >99.9% facility uptime
  • Lead in implementation of data projects such as statistical process control to improve maintainability, availability and proactive detection of failures
  • Identify and drive short-term systematic hardware upgrades and improvements leading to safe, stable, and reliable system operation
  • Plan and develop long-term strategies including capital improvement plans in consultation with facility management
  • Provide design and mechanical engineering support on projects including review and approval of outsourced designs that support the facility
  • Effectively collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors on new construction and renovation projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience with emphasis on operation, maintenance and improvements of large industrial systems such as air handlers, chillers, boilers, air compressors, acid/solvent exhaust and utility water
  • Knowledge of Siemens Building Automation Systems a plus
  • Exhibit top-tier diagnostic capabilities, especially in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, aptitude to work cohesively in teams, and lead projects when necessary
  • Showcase a proactive mindset towards identifying potential equipment challenges and responding to emerging issues
  • Expertise to communicate tactical concepts across a wide range of employees from engineering peers to operational technicians and management
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S
Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD To USD
