Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Mechanic to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our healthcare facility's mechanical, HVAC, and building systems.

This role supports a stable, union environment and offers predictable Monday–Friday day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor BAS, manage plumbing tasks, and assist in maintaining patient care environments.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience with boilers is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Must meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, walking, ladders, lifting 50 lbs+).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility systems.
  • Inspect and repair boilers, chillers, AHUs, motors, and power house systems.
  • Monitor BAS, perform rounds, and respond to equipment issues.
  • Maintain plumbing systems, perform drain cleaning, doors and hardware work, and paint projects.
  • Support patient care environments by adjusting OR conditions and installing facility equipment as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure continuous facility operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility systems to support safe and efficient hospital operations.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment including boilers, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), motors, and Power House systems.
  • Monitor building systems through the Building Automation System (BAS), complete mechanical room rounds, and respond to equipment issues.
  • Maintain plumbing systems and fixtures, perform drain cleaning, repair doors and hardware, and complete general maintenance and painting projects.
  • Support patient care environments by responding to service requests, adjusting operating room conditions, changing medical gas cylinders, and installing facility equipment as needed.
  • Conduct water and chemical testing, assist with maintenance projects, and participate in the on‑call rotation to ensure continuous facility operations.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience with boilers required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
