Job summary

NTN Bearing of America is seeking a Facilities Mechanic to maintain industrial equipment, including filtration systems, pumps, and HVAC. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and blueprint reading to ensure top condition of facility systems in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have an associate degree or equivalent experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience with industrial systems.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, certificate, or apprenticeship training in a related field from a vocational school or college plus two or more years of work‑related experience.
  • In lieu of secondary education or formal training, candidate must have a high level of mechanical aptitude and three or more years of work‑related experience in an industrial setting.
  • Working knowledge of physics in the areas of mechanics, pneumatics, electricity, and material properties.
  • High level troubleshooting and repair skills for facility equipment or systems.
  • Possesses basic plumbing skills.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces.
  • Strong working knowledge of arithmetic and geometry.
  • Ability to read blueprint and facility drawings.
  • Experienced in using Powered Industrial Trucks (forklift, scissors lift, etc).
  • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing pressure filtration systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on facility equipment such as changing filters, greasing or balancing concentration and levels of coolants and oils.
  • Repair, modify or fabricate components for equipment by using tool room machines.
  • Install, connect, and adjust thermostats and schedules in HVAC equipment.
  • Inspect coolant systems and repair coolant leaks.
  • Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks using pressure gauges, soap-and-water solution, and electronic devices.
  • Install or repair plumbing fixtures or systems: toilets, sinks, urinals, drain lines and process piping.
  • Identify and repair roof leaks or properly tent the roof in an emergency.
  • Start‑up and shut‑down facility equipment according to Lock‑Out Tag‑Out procedures.
  • Document repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • Follow all company rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety.
  • Perform cleaning and 5S tasks.

Job description

Job Title: Facilities Mechanic

Summary: The facilities mechanic will maintain industrial facility equipment such as filtration systems, centrifugal pumps, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation in top working condition.

Starting Wage: $24.00

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At ANBM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

  • Power tools: Jig saws, reciprocating saws, grinders, drills, etc.
  • Pressure indicators: Differential pressure detectors, pneumatic air gauges, refrigerant pressure gauges, water pressure gauges and vacuum.
  • Voltage or current meters: Electrical multi‑meter, alternating current AC line splitters, electrical current meters, heating ventilation and air‑conditioning/refrigeration HVAC/R clamp meters, and voltmeters.
  • Welding equipment: Tig, Mig, Gas, etc.
  • Machine tools: drill press, band saw, lathe, etc.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
  • Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40‑hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
  • The pace of work is steady and fast.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
